Content Editor – Intern (Remote)

Job Summary

Afghan Language Services (ALS) is seeking a skilled and passionate Remote Content Editor Intern to join our mission-driven team. This is a 3-month, unpaid internship focused on producing high-quality written content for our website and social media platforms. The ideal candidate will be a creative storyteller with a deep understanding of Afghan culture and strong English writing skills. This role is a vital part of our content strategy, helping to amplify our mission and engage our global audience.

Upon successful completion of the 3-month internship, outstanding performers will be evaluated for promotion to a paid Associate position within the company. 

ROLE DETAILS

Essential Duties and Responsibilities: 
  • Create, write, and edit engaging blog posts, website content, and social media copy primarily in English, with a focus on topics relevant to Afghanistan and language services. 
  • Conduct thorough research to ensure content is accurate, culturally sensitive, and relevant to our target industries, including legal, healthcare, and education. 
  • Collaborate with the Chief Quality Assurance Officer to maintain brand voice, quality standards, and content accuracy across all platforms. 
  • Utilize knowledge of AI tools to enhance content ideation, research, and optimization. 
  • Work within Microsoft 365 to manage content, collaborate with the team, and track project progress. 
  • Manage a content calendar, ensuring timely delivery of articles and posts. 
  • Adapt content for various platforms, including our website blog, LinkedIn, and other social media channels. 
  • Participate in content strategy meetings to contribute innovative ideas and perspectives. 

 

REQUIREMENTS AND QUALIFICATIONS

Requirements&Qualifications

EDUCATION

Preference given to current university students or recent graduates with a degree in Communications, Marketing, Content Writing, English Literature, or a related field.

WRITING SKILLS

Exceptional English writing, editing, and proofreading skills, with a portfolio of work to demonstrate ability.

CULTURAL CONTEXT

In-depth knowledge of Afghanistan and its culture, enabling the creation of authentic and context-rich content.

TECHNICAL PROFICIENCY

Familiarity with Microsoft 365, including Word, and a working knowledge of content management systems (CMS).

Awareness of AI tools and how they can be used to assist in content creation and research.
